  • Passenger rail engagementcomplete by April 15, 2025
    The Passenger Rail Master Plan will assess the feasibility of passenger rail in the province, including regional (inter-city), commuter and high-speed services. Help inform the development of the Passenger Rail Master Plan, which will be completed in summer 2025.
  • Stop housing delays
    The Alberta government is seeking input on red tape issues that are delaying housing development. Reducing red tape in the process of building new homes and apartment buildings is important to helping government, municipalities and developers fill this gap.

    Invest Alberta developed a profile template that poses many of the questions that Invest Alberta hears from investors.   • Student Work Placement Program provides employers with wage subsidies to hire post-secondary students for paid work experiences. Students in turn benefit with quality work experience so they can secure employment in their chosen fields of study.

  • WILWorks Post-Secondary Student Placement Wage Subsidy Program
    1. WILWorks Post-Secondary is designed to incentivize employers to offer more student positions than they did before leveraging funding. Excellence in Manufacturing Consortium, a preferred partner with the Government of Canada, delivers the Student Work Placement Program subsidy to Canadian manufacturers. Eligible employers can receive up to $7,000 in wage subsidies for eligible post-secondary youth hires. This project is funded by the Government of Canada’s Student Work Placement Program.
  • WILWorks Skilled Trades in Advanced Manufacturing Wage Subsidy Program
    1. A pre-apprenticeship program for youth (15-29), providing the opportunity to gain hands-on experience in advanced manufacturing trades, is open for applications. The program offers employers wage subsidies of 50% of participant’s wages to a maximum of $5,000 for a training period of up to 20 weeks.
